Astra Appalachia and the Fabricator's Forge is proud to present Betrayal at Isstvan V, a three-day narrative-driven event for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy focused upon that ill-fated opening rebuttal to the Warmaster's Treachery.The event will be held from May 16th - 18th, 2025 in Coraopolis, PA (~15 minute drive from the Pittsburgh International Airport).We will feature games within the Age of Darkness to fit multiple different play styles, from Zone Mortalis to Apocalypse.More details to come, so subscribe to the mailing list below to stay informed.

    Winter 2021's Prompt ...

    As we progress into the darker days of the Winter season here in the Northern Hemisphere, one way to pass the time is curling up with a leather bound novel next to a warm fire surrounded by friends and family. Soon the year of 021.M2 will come to a close filled with yet another year of lockdowns, growth, loss, and uncertainty.The team here at Legacies of Treachery want to encourage participants to draw from this coming season of reflection in the prompt of our inaugural hobby competition:

    Depict a single, personally memorable scene from one of
    the Horus Heresy novels in miniature form.    We encourage submissions centered around the
    importance of comradery in the face of impossible odds.

    Competition Rules ...

    - You may make a submission in either 32mm "Heroic" scale or 8mm "Titanicus/Aeronautica" scale.
    - The submission must be accompanied with an excerpt/citation from the source text in which the depicted scene occurs.
    - The miniature scene must be physical and fit within the maximum cylindrical build volume of 130 mm Diameter x 150 mm Height.
    - The height is measured from the top of the "base" to the highest feature on the miniature.
    - You may use parts from any first or third party manufacture/artist. However, such parts must be "lore-friendly" and fit the ForgeWorld aesthetic of the Heresy-era.
    - Must be considered a "complete" piece by the submission deadline. This means the piece must be assembled and painted to a standard the artist considers finished.

    Prizes for the Victors ...

    - Each individual who submits an entry AND donates at least $25 USD to one of our partner charities (listed here) will receive a commemorative lodge coin.
    - First place in each category will receive a custom physical trophy fitting of their accomplishment.
    - Second and Third place in each category will receive a commemorative plaque to honor their work.

    Submission Form Opening on November 1st, 2021

    For those wishing to enter the competition, each individual entry will require the following:- A donation of at least $10 USD to one of our partner charities w/ receipt (listed here).
    - Include a 360-degree turn-table movie of the miniature and up to 10 supporting high-definition (2k minimum) photographs against a static background.    We encourage WIP pictures to be posted to the #LegacyOfTreachery and #MinisForAlzheimers hashtags on Social Media.Every entry submitted will be judged individually by a team of invited Horus Heresy fanatics chosen from the "HH: Age of Darkness" discord server. Each entry will be judged according to a rubric set out by the event organizer and published here at a later date.There will be three categories split by the lines drawn in the narratives: Loyalists, Traitors, & Independents.Additionally, we will have a "People's Choice" award for each category gauged by the will of the wonderful community on "HH: Age of Darkness" discord server.

    Our goal here at Legacies of Treachery is to bring the amazing 30K community together through a cause that transcends national boundaries and political leanings. Through our joint adventures in the hobby, we hope to raise funds to tackle the unwelcome deterioration of the memories inflicting our fellow man.As such, all proceeds from this competition are to be donated to one of the following organizations fighting against Alzheimer's Disease. Should you be unable to donate to one of the following organizations due to restrictions in your home country, reach out to the event organizers via the "HH: Age of Darkness" discord server and we will find a suitable replacement.- Alzheimer's Society (UK)
